Ok, so my assistant just asked me if I thought I could land a commercial airplane in an emergency, if i had to.
Ummm....no. I may put it on the ground but that is not a landing anyone would want to be a part of!
Apparently a recent survey said that over 50% of people think that, in a bind, they could land a commercial plane if they had to. Am I crazy or are some people WAAAAY to confident in their own abilities?
This got me thinking about the "turbulence" in the markets recently. Most clients tend to be "Pilots, Co-Pilots, or Passengers" when it comes to their finances. The Pilots want to fly the plane themselves. The real question is whether or not they are qualified enough to bring the plane down for a safe landing!
Most of our clients are much more comfortable being co-pilots or passengers. Some want to provide their own insights while others just want to enjoy the ride. Regardless, during periods of market turbulence, what is most important is that we safely arrive at our stated destinations.
